The home of small beginnings
As the center of our China mission on the outskirts of Beijing is Fair Havens, a home for disabled and abandoned children. It was founded in 2004. A home for young nurse girls operates in connection with the children’s home.
From the very beginning Jean and Paul, a Chinese couple, have led our work. In addition to the ministry at the children’s home, they part take in teaching and prayer ministries as well as counseling married couples.

THE FAIR HAVENS HOME
The Fair Havens children’s home was founded in 2004. The children mainly come from State children’s homes or straight from hospitals.
Many children are sick on arrival: they have heart diseases, intestinal problems, cleft lips that have not been treated, severe disabilities or handicaps. Due to these, some of them are underfed and tiny.
Fair Havens strives to take care of the children’s physical, mental and social welfare. Many children have to undergo one or even several surgeries, and as a result, they have to spend time in the hospital. Despite this the good and loving care the children receive brings healing. The children at Fair Havens are happy, contented and active – each according to their abilities.
The operations of the children’s home are financed primarily by Finnish sponsors. We cannot assign a particular child to the sponsor because the children usually stay at the children’s home only a few years. We are committed to finding foster homes for them either from China or from abroad.
During these ten years, there have been well over a hundred children staying at the children’s home. From 9 different countries, people have adopted some of them. Many foster homes keep in touch with Fair Havens even years after adopting the child.
The recommended fee for sponsoring a child is 35€ / month. If you want to become a sponsor or otherwise support our work in China, please contact Elina, our Sponsor Secretary: +358 50 566 6534, email: firstname.lastname@example.org
