Our mission work in Estonia consists primarily of one-day evangelistic outreach days mainly in the center of Tallinn. Depending on the season the outreach groups consist of about 10-50 people. Our Estonian partner is Pastor Ulo Niinemägi. Kimmo and Leena Metsämäki are responsible for the Estonian mission work in One Way.
A typical outreach day starts usually in St. Olaf’s Church where we have good worship and prayer meeting. After praying we go to the streets of Tallinn’s center. Ulo Niinemägi obtains in advance any permits needed for holding street meetings. We usually receive permission to hold the meetings in some park in the center. Songs in Estonian, Russian, English and Finnish, as well as testimonies of God’s love, are heard far and wide around the park area. There are often singers and musicians, starting with the accordionist, in our outreach groups and many a time also an Estonian musical group.
We also hold evangelistic meetings in St. Olaf’s Church. We distribute invitations to the meeting throughout the day in the city. Estonians are much more responsive to come forward during altar calls than Finns. Almost all visitors come forward for prayer.
